Rules For The Flying Aces Flying Field | ![]() |
1. All transmitters must have easily visible flag or numbers.
2. Get proper clothes pin and check to see that frequency is free before switching on. This double check is necessary because of human error.
3. Use common sense in regards to take-off and landings. Taxi out or carry out to the field. Do not take-off from the pit area and try to land well way from other flyers and spectators.
4. Try to keep a distance of at least 25 feet between transmitters. Some of the 72 MHZ frequencies are capable of interfering with each other under certain conditions.
5. If you get erroneous control responses while several planes are in the air - land immediately - don't expect it to improve. You may have impending radio problems or battery failure.
6. Mufflers are required to keep noise to a minimum. Maximum DB level is 95 for 2 cycle engines and 98 for four cycle engines.
7. Don't fly over houses. There is plenty of air space. Fly in front of you only and don't fly over the lower property.
8. Don't fly over the pit area or spectators.
9. Let everyone in the pit area know when you are making a landing approach or have an emergency so they can take proper precautions.
10. You must be a member in good standing of the AMA.
11. AMA insurance will not cover flyers that are in violation of the rules.
12. Racing planes cannot be tested at the field or flown as an everyday flyer. Their high speed make them a danger to people and property.
13. Absolutely no flying before 11:00 AM any day.
14. Pick up all trash such as broken props, rags, rubber bands, etc.
15. New flyers are not allowed to fly at the field unattended. You must first prove you can take off, land and fly safely.
16. No alcoholic beverages allowed at anytime. |
